Registration is Open for the 2023 NAGC National Symposium on Equity for Black and Brown Gifted Students
In keeping with NAGC’s commitment to supporting social justice, confronting systemic racism, and advancing equity in gifted education, the National Symposium on Equity for Black and Brown Gifted Students is an annual virtual event that brings together researchers, practitioners, and prominent thought leaders advocating for racial equity in gifted education.
This year's Symposium will be held online August 1-2, 2023.
The 2023 symposium will focus on both advocacy and racial justice in gifted education and equitable and culturally responsive teaching for Black and Brown gifted students. Sessions will be presented virtually, and recordings will be available for 60 days post-event.
Symposium content will include topics such as:
- Strategies to identify, support, and serve gifted and talented Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, and Indigenous students.
- Information on the social and emotional needs of gifted and talented students.
- Tips on building a school and district infrastructure that supports equity in gifted and talented education programs and services.
- Strategies to create culturally responsive classrooms and programs.
- Resources to create advocates and advance equity in gifted and talented education.
